Day #5

They're home!!! Woohoo! yay!

The top picture is Ben and Matt's new house. They each have their own room...lucky...

The bottom picture is a cute little street in their town...Ellisville is cute and tiny...the population as of 2000 was: 3,465. The total area is 5.6 square miles.

The team spent the night in a hotel in Mississippi, somewhat near the compound. This morning, they arrived at the compound for the first time. They are currently unpacking and exploring their new homes :-).

Day #4

So...the team traveled through Arizona, then New Mexico, then Texas. They are currently in Louisiana...still driving...

I dyed my hair yesterday, because I needed to do something spontaneous for myself...it's helping me cope...it's a new season, right?? It's kinda dark red...I think I like it.

So...the team visited the Grand Canyon on Friday...without me...in fact, I was in a lab class while they were there...not fair.

Here are some photos: there are 3 from the grand canyon: Ben sent me these photos from his phone. The photo at the top of the page is of the snow in New Mexico, I believe. The canyon looks ginormous...I'm super jealous because I have never seen it myself.

Oh, and Ben keeps texting me every time he drives past a Hooters restaurant...he's seen a lot in Texas and Louisiana, apparently, because I've been getting a lot of texts lately. The fact that there are so many Hooters' is not re-assuring me at all...perhaps he should just move back to California?? I think so...

Mississippi Counties

So...this is a map of the counties in Mississippi. Jones is the final destination for the team. The church will be located in the city of Laurel. The compound (aka living quarters) is currently located in the city of Ellisville. Jones county is in the SE area of Mississippi. Did you know?? The county is named after John Paul Jones. John Paul Jones was the United States' first popular naval fighter during the American Revolution. He now has a well known reputation for his crazy amazing battle skills on sea. The county was established in 1826.

Day#1

Ok, so this is gonna be fun...and it will allow me to live vicariously through Ben's travels. Since I'm stuck here on the coast (never thought I'd say that...hehe), I decided to attempt to document how Mississippi is affected by the new team of Californians. As the girlfriend left behind, I am comitting to writing and documenting about the process at least once a week.

So...today is day #1. The team met at Denny's at 6:30 am this morning for the breakfast of champions.

8:52 am: I was informed via text message that the team had actually left SLO for the voyage.

11:35 am: I was informed via text message that the team had arrived in Bakersfield. "At least it's not Fresno" is what I was told...
